WINFIELD - Allison Mae Guinter, 12, of Winfield, died peacefully on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, after a brave fight in the Janet Weis Children's Hospital of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she had been undergoing treatment since first becoming ill in May.
She was born Dec. 2, 1995, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Matthew J. Bobb of Glen Iron and Trina L. Guinter of Winfield.
She was in the seventh grade at Lewisburg Middle School, where she enjoyed the company of her many friends. Allison received numerous certificates as an honor roll student and was proud of her perfect attendance. She was also a member of the softball team.
She was a free spirit and enjoyed making people laugh. Allison took pleasure in being outside, swimming in her Aunt Bonnie's pool, pulling other children around with the lawn mower and playing with her dogs, Bubba, Nala and Bear. She appreciated music, reading and collecting beanie babies. Allison loved her family, friends and the people who oversaw her care at the hospital.
Allison was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Katie Guinter of Winfield; brother, Evan Bobb of Winfield; step-father, Joe Sheesley of Winfield; her father's companion, Hannah Mitch and her daughter, Destiny of Glen Iron; paternal grandparents, Michael and Helen Bobb of Milton; maternal grandparents, Kathy Almond and Herbert Davis of Richmond, Va., and Samuel Guinter of Lewisburg; paternal great-grandmother, Emma Bobb of Herndon; and maternal great-grandmother, Jean Graff of Pillow.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 24 State Route 304, Winfield, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m., with Pastor Larry Siikanen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Winfield Cemetery.
The family welcomes flowers, however if desired memorial contributions may be made to the Allison Guinter Memorial Fund at Service 1st Federal Credit Union, 101 Walter Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
